We're Back

We have returned . We got home on Saturday morning at about 12:30. The return flight was similar to the flight to Orlando. We had a great time and enjoyed everything about the trip. Well maybe not the humidity. We went to Cocoa Beach and played in the surf, and spent every other day at Disney World. It turns out that Kayla is quite the daredevil. She went on every ride including the ones good old dad wouldn't do (Tower of Terror). Hannah loved Big Thunder Mountain Railway and Splash Mountain. Emily was happy to be there and loved all the rides as well, but she loved the Haunted Mansion. One bummer; Pirates of the Caribbean was closed. That's twice in the last two years that we found it closed. We also found ourselves in the middle of "Gay Day" (not that there's anything wrong with that) at the Magic Kingdom on Saturday. What a nice thing to subject our children to. Anyway, were back and we had a great time. Love you all,

I need input.

I need some ideas to get my boss back for playing a joke on me. It was so mean. I have been working on sending purchase orders for some machined parts for our exoskeleton project. My boss Rick is very particular about calling vendors after I have faxed orders to them to make sure that they got them. So I have called this one guy about 10 times because I have sent him several orders at different times. Anyway, I guess this guy and my boss are in cahoots because they got me. The vendor left me a voicemail after I had sent him an order that said that I need to let Rick know that the order was not what was agreed upon. I told Rick about the message and Rick asked me to call the vendor back and explain to him "Working on the Exo project is a privilage and he needs to do what we ask of him." Well, I called the guy and asked him what the problem was and told him in the nicest way possible what my boss had said. The guy was quiet for a minute and then said "you can tell Rick that I am going to take the part that I was working on out of the machine and throw it in the garbage and he can get his parts from somewhere else." I started to sweat really hard. I called Rick up and told him what the vendor said and Rick said okay whatever. I got really upset because I was worried that I had done something wrong and I started to cry. Rick called me back a few minutes later and told me to call the vendor back and tell him that if he throws the part away that he is in breach of a government contract and blah blah blah. I told Rick that I didn't feel comfortable in saying that or with any of this and I asked if he would take over. I started to cry on the phone and then he finally told me that he was pulling my leg. Isn't that so mean? I am really embarrassed now that I started to cry. I knew in the back of my head that he was joking but I didn't want to mess up so I just did what he asked of me. Now I want revenge. Give me some ideas.

I Forgot

Hannah finally got to the bathroom after holding it for more than an hour. What a trooper.

We FINALLY made it

Well, we made it to Florida, FINALLY. We spent about 12 hours on the plane/in the airport. We we're originally supposed to leave at 10:30 a.m. so we arrived at the airport at about 8:15. When we got there we found that the flight was delayed until 10:55. This put our connection in Albuquerque in jeopardy, but the airline said they would hold the flight. A while later we noticed that the board said 11:50. At that point, they called us all to the desk and told us we needed to be rerouted. They put us on a flight through St. Louis which did not require a change of planes, which was good, but it would put us in Orlando at 7:25 p.m. instead of 6:10 as originally scheduled. At least we would still get there on Friday. When we got to St. Louis the flight attendant asked that everyone going on to Orlando stay on the plane so they could get a head count. Then after everyone got off the plane that was not going on, they announced that the next flight crew had not arrived yet and would be an hour late. so we could go get something to eat or whatever, but we needed to be back in 20 minutes. We got something to eat and were dutifully back in 20 minutes. They boarded the other passengers and we proceeded to wait 30-45 minutes for the next flight crew. The finally arrived and they shut the doors and we pushed back from the gate and were off, sort of. About this time Hannah said she needed to go potty, and when she says that she means it. The problem is that during taxi and climb out they don't let you get out of your seat (more on that in a minute). We started to taxi and went a ways, but them stopped. We sat on the taxiway for about 25 minutes (Hannah still needing to go). We moved about 400 yards and stopped again for about 25 minutes (see above). At that point that captain came on the intercom and said that we were being delayed because of weather, but that ATC had rerouted us around the weather and we were cleared for take-off. We FINALLY got here at about 8:30 p.m. So, to make a long story short, we are here!!!
